Advanced Animation 22.04.2025 - 16.05.2025 | Week 1 - Week 4 Jia Wenbing /0365436/ Design principles/Bachelor of Design in Creative Media INSTRUCTIONS LECTURES PROJECT 1-  Walk Cycle For this assignment, we began exploring simple character animation. We needed to create a walking pose. Find reference images/videos of both original and pose-based walks, then create the walking pose. Observe the reference. Identify extreme poses such as reaching, reaching down, passing through, and rising up. Fig 1.1 Walking posture reference Following Mr. Kamal's steps in class, I completed the Vanilla Walk. There were some mistakes along the way, but I revisited them later by watching the class recording. Next was the Attitude Walk. I looked up some references, aiming for a relaxed and cheerful walk. Fig 1.1  Attitude Walk I first modified the character's posture, changing the hands into fists, swinging the body left and right, and pausing the keyframes of the feet. After all the postur...

MOTION GRAPHIC & COMPOSITING Tuesday,Apr. 22 .2025 20.05.2025 - 03.06.2025 | Week 5 - Week 7 Jia Wenbing /0365436/ Design principles/Bachelor of Design in Creative Media INSTRUCTIONS PROJECT 2  This assignment required me to make only one promotional video or product video for any brand. Create mood board; create style guide to convey the final look and feel, make storyboard animation. Fig 1.1 Logo Animation storyboard I chose the brand "Kiehl's" as the content of this assignment. I first studied the products of this brand, and then designed the logo animation of this brand based on their logo. I first used the text tool to write out the font of the entire logo, and then used the pen tool to trace the path of the logo to achieve the smooth curve effect of handwriting. Fig 1.2 Using the Type and Pen Tools Then use the path modification tool to start using keyframe settings to modify the line trend. Fig 1.3  Use Modify Path When tracing the line below the logo, I want...

MOTION GRAPHIC & COMPOSITING Tuesday,Apr. 22 .2025 22.04.2025 - 13.05.2025 | Week 1 - Week 4 Jia Wenbing /0365436/ Design principles/Bachelor of Design in Creative Media INSTRUCTIONS PROJECT 1 PART 1  I needed to learn the motion principle and design process of this dynamic graphic based on the template provided. I followed a lot of tutorials. I wanted to use balance to create a seesaw effect, so I placed two small balls and used position keyframes to move them according to the movement of the horizontal line. I re-drew the dynamic graphics based on the methods I learned. I wanted to achieve the effect of line rotation. I used the pen tool to draw the line, and then changed the position and rotation angle of the line. Then I changed the curve, but I have a question, why is my curve different from the one in the tutorial? I will make adjustments later. In the middle of the rotating line, a white wireframe will appear. I use the shape tool to draw a square and then stroke it. I w...

Advanced Animation 22.04.2025 - 16.05.2025 | Week 1 - Week 4 Jia Wenbing /0365436/ Design principles/Bachelor of Design in Creative Media INSTRUCTIONS LECTURES WEEK 1 In the first class, Mr. Kamal simply introduced the learning module and prepared for the subsequent work, and asked us to find similar dynamic graphics that we like. WEEK 2 Timing The number of drawings required for an action determines how long the action lasts on the screen More drawings = slower action Fewer drawings = faster action Timing affects mood and expressiveness: Example: For the same head action, different inbetween numbers (tween frames) convey different meanings, such as:      No tween frames = a strong impact      4 tween frames = a quick command      10 tween frames = stretching a sore muscle Spacing The distance between each frame of the action Slow in / Slow out: Natural actions are usually slower at the beginning and end, and faster in the middle. The distanc...
