This week, wee were introduced to double exposure photography – merging multiple images together. Some of the possibilities that were mentioned are:
- Using the tilt-shift effect
- Creating a fake reflection
- Experimenting with simple portraits and textures
- Converting results to black & white
- Working with a silhouette
- Picking two random photos
- Making simple objects look fascinating
- Using shadow
WEEK 6 / Healing Tool
This week we completed multiple exercises using the heal tool on Photoshop.
WEEK 7 / Independent-learning Week
As this is our independent-learning week, I continued working on Project 2.
INSTRUCTIONS
PROJECT 2A / Double Exposure
"Students use specific skillsets from photoshop to blend their portrait with layers of background images."

Process
The first thing I did was look for references on Pinterest for inspiration. Here are some of the ones I personally liked:

Final Double Exposure
What I want to express is to be in nature, as if becoming a part of nature, and I am also one of the flowers and plants.
PROJECT 2b / Photo Manipulation
"Students use DSLR of mobile phone for production shooting that is been properly set up and lit. The selected photos will be edited in photoshop to meet the decided theme.

FEEDBACK
Week 5
We took our portraits for Project 2A this week, as Mr. Martin was assisting us and giving us feedback.
Week 9
This week I showed Mr. Martin my work for Project 2B. He suggested I change my idea as it did not effectively reflect the aim/goal of the assignment.
REFLECTION
Experience
Throughout working on this project, I personally really enjoyed the process of creating my double exposure portrait. Visiting the studio in campus was fun, as well as the editing process itself. What I liked the most was that I could express myself through my portrait, using different elements that reflected me as a person, as well as my feelings. As for Project 2B, I found it quite challenging as it was difficult to come up with an idea that was both original and doable.
Observations
Something I've observed while working on this Project was that I work best through trial and error, which is why it is often difficult for me to create sketches (as I need to try out what works first).
Findings
Although I am quite familiar with Photoshop and use it often, I was able to gain more skills while working on both Project 2A and 2B. I also realised that it's always best to explore different options as it makes your learning experience more effective, as well as more exciting.
