Final Project - Self Titled
This week Mr. Hafiz asked us to do the final task of four weeks, combining DIP and Typo expertise to create a comprehensive poster
FINAL PROJECT / Self-titled
"Self-titled is an exploration project for the students to express their own individuality and reflect their personality
into digital art self-expression. The main idea is to build up self-confidence and discover their interest."
In this assignment, I thought about it for a long time and wanted to express our own national culture.
I found a lot of references and determined the elements I wanted.

I first drew two sketches for selection, and finally decided to use the first sketch

I deliberately put on my own traditional ethnic costume, Hanfu, took photos, and then processed my own pictures, including the skirt hem, including the picture brightness and effects, to achieve the effect I wanted.

Then I combined the dragon material I drew with my own portrait, added some decorative elements, and used all elements of Chinese culture to form a poster. Here I deliberately used a simple gradient for the background so that the entire poster has a visual center and is not cluttered. At the same time, the background color is orange-red to coordinate with the color of the entire picture.

When making the title, I began to struggle with which title looked better or was more appropriate, so I asked my friends, and they all felt that the two titles had their own merits. In the end, I felt that the second title was better, more refined, and also the composition of the entire picture. more uniform

I like my country’s traditional culture very much, and I want to do my best to promote Chinese traditional clothing, Hanfu, and Chinese culture. And 2024 is the Year of the Dragon in China. I want to use the dragon to express the charm of Chinese culture. What is national is what is world-wide.

To create some movement, I merge many layers together or make some modifications.
What I want to express is: Chinese culture is vast and profound, and we need to constantly explore and express it to show the splendor of Chinese culture. I hope everyone likes Chinese culture and is willing to understand it.
REFLECTION
Experience
This project was very challenging for me because it involved using my own likeness for posters and videos. In addition, I am not familiar with the software After Effects because I don't use it very often. For this reason, I watched a lot of video production tutorials about Ae and encountered a lot of difficulties in creating animations. Although I was not very satisfied with my work in the end, it was the best result I could do within my current limited abilities. I'm excited to express myself through this project
Observations
Before starting this project, I was very confused and didn’t know what content to create. Finally, after participating in a comic exhibition and communicating with other students, I felt that I should express my own national culture and promote my own culture.
Findings
Throughout this project, I mainly gained skills in After Effects, creating animations and text effects
