Reflection

Experience:

This module is very challenging and energy-consuming. The overall design difficulty is one level higher than the first semester. I have to think carefully about my creative process, but there was a misunderstanding in the middle, which made my design similar to the template. Fortunately, I modified it in time. In this module, I learned professional typography and creative thinking skills because most of the assignments in this module require my original design works. But I am glad that I took this module because it improved my professional skills and design experience.

Observation:

I still follow the design principles when designing, but I found that my style began to change and I began to want to add some interesting ideas and inspiration. In addition, most of the assignments in this semester require new ideas, so I need to find and observe more good works to increase my ideas and learn the design methods of different works.

Discovery:

In this module, the first to third tasks gave me a better understanding of typography, and each task is related to each other. For example, in the first task, we learned about eight layouts and font arrangements, and I will use this knowledge in the third task. I really like my design in the third task. I decided to create the font type by observation. I created the auspicious cloud letters, which I think combines Eastern culture with Western culture. I made a small breakthrough innovation. Most importantly, I learned to appreciate the process, especially when designing something. Although it takes a lot of energy, I get a great sense of accomplishment.
