INSTRUCTIONS
PROJECT 3
This assignment required me to continue working on the previous one and create a product promotional video.
First, I had to create a mood board; a style guide to convey the final look and feel; and a storyboard animation.
Fig 1.1 Product Animation storyboard
Based on the content and characteristics of the product "Kiehl's", I chose four characteristics of calendula, orange, lavender oil and jasmine contained in the product.

Fig 1.3 Drawing completed material
I first drew all the assets I was going to use in illustration, then imported the groups into After Effects as assets. I renamed them so that I could organize them more easily.

After all the drawings were completed, I started to process all the product materials in Photoshop and exported them in PNG format for easy use.

When displaying each product element, I will add subtitles.

When changing the element, I wanted to change the color in a clockwise circular motion, so I used shape layers and masking to achieve this.

I want to achieve a jasmine flower element where a petal is rotated to form a complete jasmine flower, so I copied multiple graphics and made rotating petals by position and rotation.

I drew the lines of the product, arranged the positions of all the elements, and then made the products appear one by one, eventually creating the effect of a product poster.

I processed the product materials in Photoshop, arranged them, imported them into AE, and then moved the elements for decoration to make a product poster.

Copy the LOGO created in the previous task and modify it. Use it as the final logo animation and add a slogan to make adjustments.

After everything was finalized, I started adjusting the sound effects and looking for suitable background music.

FEEDBACK
Week 12
- Mr.Fauzi suggested that I add 3D effects, AI and mechanized elements to make it look more futuristic and technological.
REFLECTION
In this Motion Graphic Compositing project, I attempted to create a video composite combining graphic animation and real-world footage. The entire process was a great exercise and challenge for me. Initially, I was a little worried about the image looking cluttered, considering the multiple elements involved and the need to maintain rhythm, color, and visual consistency. But with gradual adjustments, I gradually found my rhythm.
During the production process, I learned how to use masks, keyframes, transitions, and layer overlays to enrich the visuals. Controlling the rhythm and matching it to the beat of the music was truly enjoyable. I used to find After Effects a bit daunting, but this experience has given me a lot of confidence. Although I encountered some technical difficulties along the way, through constant experimentation and research, I gradually resolved them, which helped me become more familiar with After Effects.
Overall, this project gave me a deeper understanding of the compositing mindset. It's not just about putting together assets; it's about thinking about how these visual elements can truly tell a complete story. I also realized the importance of storyboarding and composition planning upfront. The clearer the plan, the easier it is to process in post-production. This experience has given me more confidence in working on more complex motion graphics projects in the future.
